<image:title>OUR STORY - Celebrate good times It all started on New Year’s Eve 2019 over a conversation between childhood friends. Initially, we wanted to create opportunities to stay connected and to catch up regularly, not just during the festive season. The discussion turned to the things we care for most – health, well-being, whānau and giving back. In light of the occasion, we landed on the idea of creating a healthy, non-alcoholic beverage we could proudly take to social events and share with whānau and friends.</image:title>

      <image:title>OUR STORY</image:title>
<image:caption>We’re onto something special We kept being drawn to mānuka honey, its well-being benefits, unique taste and demand. We knew that by adding the purest spring water and keeping it natural, we could create a beverage that reflected our expectations and culture. The goal was then set to create a deliciously refreshing honey-water beverage, that told our story, by the end of the year.</image:caption>

      <image:title>OUR STORY - Then the global pandemic</image:title>
<image:caption>In March 2020, New Zealand went into lockdown as Covid-19 broke out around the world. It was, and still is an unprecedented time that has resulted in fear and uncertainty. However, rather than let that derail our mission it had the opposite effect and motivated us even more to fulfil our dream. We realised that we weren’t just creating this beverage for ourselves, we were creating it for everyone. The world needed something positive and our goal was to do that. In Oct 2020, we started our first commercial partnership with the White Island Café in Whakatane, where it all began.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Giving back Manaakitanga is our way of giving back to communities and doing something we really care about. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Flo (flourish) which is a New Zealand lifestyle fashion brand whereby every garment purchased helps deliver a well-being programme in school for kids aged 10-12 years. We support Flo by developing a programme that teaches the importance of sustainability.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Much love to the bees 3 Māori Boys guarantee that every bottle of Wai Mānuka has its own unique taste. Our honeybees fly up to 5km in any direction and can visit more than 500 flowers per day. Other things that influence taste is the season, number of hives and location. Therefore, thanks to our hard-working honeybees, the natural landscape and seasons, every bottle will taste slightly different.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The role of nature in the process of creating Wai Mānuka The Māori design on every bottle of Wai Mānuka was created by Arekatera (Katz) Maihi, of Ngāti Whatua and Ngāpuhi descent. The design incorporates puhoro, unaunahi and maramataka to illustrate the role of nature in the process of creating Wai Mānuka. It speaks to the journey of the bees, their relationship with nature and the moons many phases on influencing seasons. The result of this beautiful dance within nature is mānuka honey. We are privileged to share this with the world.</image:caption>
